To sail at night is beautiful on San Francisco Bay. Usually the winds of the day gentle and in many cases become warmer. We sail around Treasure Island, near the container ship berths, by the ferry building and along the SF waterfront. The city lights are beautiful on San Francisco Bay but can mask ships and islands when seen from afar. Need to navigate our way around to avoid fog belts and dodge the traffic as part of it. In a series of 2 dates will meet 1hr before sunset to review what to watch for then push off with the dusk.

This training and the check out test uses the book Collision Avoidence Regulations by USCG (ColRegs) and the USCG licensing testing for Rules of the Road. Must be able to identify lights and ships at night to safely sail in SF Bay.

Sailing from Treasure Island due to it's location in the middle of the Bay. Will leave and dusk and return in full dark. Navigation into the unmarked 4' depth channel at night will be a bonus for those who have not done this before. The boat is Angel to provide the most stable platform to navigate, view the ships from inside and on the deck. Leave
